Spring is here! That means saying hello to endless sunshine and goodbye to gloomy rain. The start of Spring also marks the beginning of our wedding season! As designers, we love nothing more than to make a couple’s special day even more spectacular with beautiful floral arrangements. What are florists for, if not to add a sprinkle of joy and warmth in people’s lives?
Last September, we had the pleasure of working with a very creative couple (with spectacular craftsmanship) on their wedding flowers. Maleah and Brendan opted for a fair colour theme for their wedding; from the bouquets to the arbour (which they constructed themselves) arrangements , everything was painted in a sea of soft pink and cream pastels.
The beautiful bouquets were designed with fragrant White Ohara Rose, Lisianthus, Ranunculus, Dahlia, Vendela Rose, Mini Rose and Wax Flower. Since our bride wanted a softer tone for her bouquets, we opted for foliage with various shades of muted green; Seeded Eucalyptus, Feather Eucalyptus, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus and Dusty Miller.
Having constructed their own arbour with driftwood, we decorated it with complimenting flowers such as Tifani Rose, Vendela Rose, White Dahlia, Blushing Bride, White Lisianthus, Queen Anne’s Lace and Dusty Miller. To create a trailing effect, we used Feather Eucalyptus and Seeded Eucalyptus along the horizontal and vertical beams.
It is always fun and inspiring when we work with creative couples who come into our studio with innovative ideas, we revel in their fresh approach and eagerness to create. We can’t wait to work with more creative couples this coming wedding season!
