To achieve their dream engagement shoots, couples will go to great lengths to scout for the perfect location that fit their personalities and themes. For this styled shoot by Lushana, she decided that the ultimate location was much higher up (885 m above sea level)!
After riding the Sea to Sky Gondola, you’ll find yourself looking down on the luscious greens of the mountains and blue waters of Squamish. With no modern infrastructures in sight, you’d think you travelled back in time, when ladies wore elegant lace dresses and gentlemen wore three- piece suits.
To echo the rich greens of the Squamish landscape, the bride was fashioned like a boho muse, donned in a delicate while lace dress and wearing a flower crown. The bridal bouquet also took on a more whimsical and wilder form.
Keeping the traditional romantic elements, soft petalled garden roses such as Juliet and Keira were the stars of the bouquet. Other antique looking flowers include pink and white Ranunculus, Queen spray roses, White Ohara rose, Queen Anne’s Lace, Wax flower, Anemone and Lisianthus. To create the wild and organic look, an array of greeneries were used to complement the roses; Fern, Feathered and Seeded Eucalyptus and Italian Ruscus.
Compared to regular full crowns, the bride’s flower crown was constructed in a much looser fashion. The Feathered Eucalyptus around the crown creates a soft yet dramatic effect, complementing the quaint blooms of Queen spray roses and peach Wax Flowers.
We can’t forget the groom’s dapper outfit! The rich navy blue of the suit is contrasted with stark white button down shirt and a vintage mint bow tie. To go along with this cool toned outfit, we kept the boutonniere simple and in the cool palette. It was designed with one single bloom of Pavlova spray rose, a small Tillandsia air plant and complementing greeneries; Seeded Eucalyptus, Baby Eucalyptus and Gunnii Eucalyptus.
Within the elaborately and beautifully decorated picnic setting are a sweetheart table arrangement and a golden wedding cake. To create a cohesive environment, the sweetheart table arrangement follows the same recipe as the bridal bouquet, with the addition of Pieris Cupido and Tuberose.
