This summer we had the most amazing pleasure of designing florals for Kim and Adam’s gorgeous wedding held at Roundhouse Community Centre in the Yaletown neighbourhood of our beautiful city of Vancouver.
Adam and Kim chose a rustic yet chic colour palette of a quicksand (sort of antique blush) and ivory with soft green and silvery greenery just loaded with texture! This was a lot of fun to design since we had tons of different types of greenery to work with. In her bouquet alone we have featured: quicksand and avalanche roses, the ever so delicate ivory scabiosa blooms, 2 types of eucalyptus, dusty miller, jasmine, and several other silvery beauties we managed to forage.
Since Kim and Adam’s wedding was all at the same location, we had a chance to create some unique and one of a kind floral decor for the couple. We made quicksand rose seating markers, florals on a chickenwire seating chart, laid eucalyptus greenery down the aisle complete with twinkle lights and even some florals draped over a rustic chalkboard with romantic inspiration.
We also hung some delicate greenery alongside twinkle lights and a collection of photos of the couple right at the very entrance to the wedding (which also doubled as a cards and gift table) for all the guests to see! This was definitely something unique and beautiful that added even more romance to this event.
For Kim and Adam we went all out and custom designed for them our largest floral installation piece yet! A 15” long hanging floral installation piece of lush greenery, quicksand and ivory roses with rustic queen Anne’s lace, green sea holly and even some large hanging air plants called xerographica. The piece served as the main floral decor for the ceremony and then doubled as main decor for the wedding party head table at the reception.
The setting couldn’t be more perfect with Roundhouse’s large exposed mahogany beams that allowed for the hanging rows of twinkle lights and showcasing the rustic but new and modern romantic feel for the entire event. We laid greenery, more roses, dahlias and tons of romantic candles across the tables for the reception.
Overall, Kim and Adam’s wedding was a really exciting design process, with loads of personal details and came together beautifully the day of. We loved the romantic atmosphere and rustic chic vibes.
